Heart over head - again!

Found this pattern when I was haunting Hansons this morning; sometimes it all just comes together in a perfect knit - the shape, the colour, the cables, everything for this one. I bought the pattern book, but had to order in the wool, so this will be a project for next month now. A thing of great beauty - often not found in commercial patterns. Deep joy :)

Gorgeousness through the post

This little bundle arrived today via e-bay - it really can be a treasure trove of beautiful woolly bargains if you take time to have a thorough look. This is five balls of pure wool, 2 ply, Sunbeam, made in the UK. Such pretty colours, I have no idea what to do with it yet, but was a snip at £%5.75 including p&p.  It arrived in the same delivery as the beautiful acorn earrings, thought I'd share them too

Progress in red

Have reached the armhole on the back of the cardi; once into the pattern it's not difficult, and only 6 rows.  Hope in to get the back finished in the next couple of days or so, there are so many other things I want to knit at the moment too! It really is a lovely wool to knit with, beautifully squooshy and luxurious feeling, and I an deeply in love with the colour now :)

Gloves for Helen

My friend is a great photographer and admired my Catching Butterflies fingerless mittens I made recently, saying something similar would be great for her outdoor photography. Got these knitted in the car today on the way to and from Winchester; nice chunky pure wool, knitted up quickly. She'll need the warmth they'll offer, she lives in north Argyll!

More dishcloths

I love knitting dishcloths, especially to give other folk. They provide easy knitting while working at the computer, or watching a film, and I can pick up and put them down at will. This is a couple I've done for Paul, who is in the process of moving into his new home. Knitted in organic cotton  from my stash, bought from e-bay last year. It's lovely to knit with, and has produced some very good cloths. Very pleased with them :)
